Dovo on ebay
Incredible. I just went on ebay and saw a Dovo with 5 bids on it and the original round point has a big chip off it. I know it is only 12.50 bid wise but why would you bid on something this messed up.. I don't think the scales were that special either.

Great idea, Ken!
I believe I could tell the difference between an oboe and a bassoon, but that's as far as it goes for me and wind instruments (I know nothing whatsoever about them).
Since I know nothing about them, what is a typical range that a woodwind instrument player would pay for a reed cutter? Purely curiosity here rather than any motivation to compete with you in your offerings to that group.
You could always PM me with the info if you'd like to.

The difference between a oboe and a bassoon is that the bassoon will burn longer. I sell the basic reed knife for around $30.00. If they are one of my band students, I usually give them one. My double reed players are the only kids in school that are allowed to have knives. I have sold some with antler handles and a silver steel blade for $65.00. I change the bevel to 25° as the reed knife is held closer to vertical for scraping and shaping cane. Some folks like the idea of having quality antique steel for their blade.
