Well, I guess it's worth what someone is willing to pay. I suppose it's value is based on it's rarity and it's appeal to collectors. That said, it's an interesting barber hone that I don't have, but it's about $80 more than I would have been willing to spend on it. Obviously you and at least one other bidder thought it was worth more!

Default Moved Thread to Auction Talk

I moved this to the auction talk forum where it will get more responses...
    Thank you..

Also IMHO this was a little high for this hone but it is always in the eye of the collector...This is basically a NOS hone so to a Catty collector it is very desirable...
I want to say that mine is the same but I can't remember if it has the #8 on it I'll check when I get home...

Yeah, that is a case of one man's trash being another man's treasure. Two collectors drove that one and the guy who got it is probably glad and the guy who didn't wishing he had bid a few $ more. The seller is happy as a pig in mud.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I double checked mine is the 2 sided Catty hone but does not have the #8 on there...
I wanna say I paid $18 for it IIRC

First off are you looking for that Catty hone in particular??? (no mine is not for sale) or are you just looking for a barbers hone???

Good deal only for the seller, or the person who just has to have a cattarageous hone!
I also own one and paid maybe 20 dollars!
