Thread: Bidding on Razors Made in Worcester Mass.

On e bay I primarily bid on Razors made in Worcester, Mass. since that is where I live. My interest in these is mainly nostalgic, not speculative; I wouldn't know from a hole in the wall if they are worth anything. I notice that I am frequently outbid so if someone on here is bidding on them and really wants them I do not wish to deny them the opportunity, but just wanted to let all know that my interest in them is primarily sentimental.

Torrey razors are great shavers and still relatively inexpensive on ebay. A lot of guys go for them ....... me included. I haven't tried other marques from Worcester so I don't know how they stack up as shavers. I imagine they must be good if they were competing with Torrey.

Good luck on your collecting. All I can say is that if you want it more then the next guy you will bid more and get it. Since you live where they made them you might try local flea markets and antique shops. No telling what remained in the area.

I keeping meaning to buy a Mass made or branded razor, but always get outbid. I think my desire for a Mass razor isn't as great as other guys' desire for that particular razor. Eventually I'll want it bad enough.

I want one of those decorated tang torreys. I wanted a brockton razor - I think Christenson made them. Some day....

Ah, a Brockton razor. Now although native to Worcester, I lived one street away from Brockton when my father transferred to a job in the area. I didn't know there were "Brockton" razors. That's another one I might look into.

I also have two Torreys. Right now my interest is in obtaining one or two more Worcester Razor Company razors. I ahve also seen a "Williams" razor made in Worcester. I was not aware of this company previously.
