Try again for a NOS Satinedge?
I was the high bidder on this for a few hours last night: Straight razor DUBL DUCK SOLINGEN SATINEDGE NOS !! - eBay (item 110345871997 end time Feb-11-09 20:00:00 PST)
I want to get it for the gf, but have the feeling that this will get way out of my price range before it ends. Any ideas what it ought to go for? Fair price vs. people bidding it up and up?
Thanks!

I did not know that dbl ducks were made by Dovo, is this correct?

The guys here who have been helpful and who are quite knowledgeable on the subject are Guggi, gssixgunn and thebigspeder. Any questions I have on DD's, I ususally search a thread and look for any insight from them I can, or PM them as they are all very responsive.

Scales say Satinwedge, blade says Satinedge, and is it just me or is there gold wash on the tang? Also the smallest Satin blade I've seen (not that I've seen that many). Certainly an interesting duck.

Good catch Holli. The pins look like they are the Dovo replacement pins available from Classic Shaving, not that you can see them in the pic provided Straight Razor Maintenance & Repair Needs . So, it looks like a re-scale.
I purchased a few before I purchased the rod and that is what they look like.“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)

I'm the furthest thing from duck expert, but it doesn't seem like a rescale to me . There are plenty of odd ducks.
gssixgun or thebigspendur would hopefully stop by and weigh in.
As far as a price goes, any number that I say would be completely useless and have nothing to do with what will happen on ebay, so no point to even attempt.
The best approach is to figure out how much having this razor is worth to you and bid that.
