I believe even stainless steel will rust eventually if not cared for. Just takes a lot longer than high carbon steel. It may also depend on the quality of the stainless steel. Maybe if the stainless has a higher carbon it may rust easier.

I understand that low grade s/s will rust if not looked after but I think the point of making a S/S razor is that it doesn’t rust. I am sure a s/s Razor made by Gotta would not rust.
In fact they are not stainless. Possibly an inox owner would like to comment?

    It's "stainless", not "rustproof".

+1 I've owned a few too & all were Silversteel not stainless steel.

Stainless steels DO rust. They take longer to rust and are more stain resistant than HCS, but eventually they can rust.

I've seen Friodurs on ebay that were rusted into oblivion. It can happen - they are resistant to corrosion, but not immune.

Years ago I had a student in my lab who decided to think for himself and soaked a set of stainless steel surgical instruments in 50% bleach overnight. Some rusted badly and some didn't at all. The composition of the steel will determine how stain resistant it actually is.

+1 . From memory it's the Chromium content unless we consider H1steel that Spyderco uses on its "Salt" range of knives.
    Different animal there.
