Thanked: 156This duck worth $35?
Seller shipped wrong razor, a dwarf in arguably much better condition. She let me keep it. Question is, do I still want the duck in the picture? After receiving three ducks with the same problem (more hone wear at toe than rest of blade); and looking at the pics I think this duck has the same problem, along with a bunch of rust.
DUBL DUCK SATIN WEDGE STRAIGHT RAZOR - eBay (item 220372209029 end time Mar-10-09 23:41:46 PDT)
So I need some advice from the SRP community. Should I pull the trigger? Clearly no one else bid on the item, so it leads me to believe I might have bid too much for it. Maybe getting the wrong razor was really good luck on my part.

well it depends on you. same razor is worth different amount to everybody, that's why most of the time the winner on ebay is the one with the highest bid, not the one with the earliest.
the one on the pictures is satinwedge, not satinedge, not sure if you realize this.
i've seen many times razors on ebay sell on subsequent listing for twice what they didn't sell for on a previous listing, so it's a matter of timing as well.
to me that razor is not worth even $5, but that's me. a slightly different razor would be worth more than twice too, so as i said you shouldn't automatically transfer my preferences to your auctions.
but soon you'll have a sample of the people who see this thread and choose to post, and you'll have to decide if you want to go with that sample's opinion or not

I'd take it for free and toss it in my practice drawer

I wouldn't go 35 for it... besides the wicked taper, it almost looks like it has a bit of a frown to it as well... I'd pass on it, but that's just me.

Let me get this straight.
So you won the auction you linked to but was shipped the wrong razor. The seller is letting you keep the shipped razor. Now you asking is you should still take the other razor?
I say yes. You already won the auction, you're paying the 35 dollars regardless. I don't think her letting you keep the first razor allows you to cancel your bid so why not take a free razor.
I'm pretty sure even if you tell her to keep the razor from the auction, you're still required to pay the 35 dollars unless you both mutually agree that the bid can be dropped, but I doubt she gave you a free razor with the assumption that that was going to happen.

I looked at that one. I am no expert but I wasn't willing to go $35 on that one.

Thanked: 156And after losing the strong urge to own another duck, I agree. When I got the email from the seller saying she shipped the wrong razor, I took a look at the auction and my first throught was:
@JC
No, I'm pretty sure that because she sent a non-conforming good and I as the buyer upon inspection decided it was fine, so the UCC will substitute the duck she sent for the duck she was supposed to send. Either case, she said I can have it as a substitute, therefore the contract would be amended by subsequent agreement and I get to keep the good duck.
And I dodged another ebay bullet.

I mis-understood the question. I assumed you would keep the better razor, I just thought she was letting you keep the good razor and still offering to send you the razor you won as well. In that case I didn't see why you would not want a free razor.
I guess you were more asking whether or not to make an additional bid at the razor you should have had from the beginning. In that case I say no.
You did dodge a bullet. I wish one of the times I bid on a razor I shouldn't have the seller would send me a better one by mistake.
