Thanked: 278There seem to be no problems listing straight razors in the following categories:
Health & Beauty > Hair Removal > Razors/ Blades
Collectables > Vanity/ Perfume/ Grooming > Barber Shop/ Shaving
Maybe the seller with problems was in the habit of listing in the knife section?

A seller I bought a razor from (USA) answered a question from a prospective buyer saying according to ebay's new policy he can no longer ship outside of the USA. I looked all through announcements and what have you and could find nothing suggesting that policy. There are plenty of sellers shipping to the USA from overseas and vis a versa. Let's hope we are off the hook for the time being.

Thanked: 5I got a reply from that seller. He said he recently received an email from ebay saying that they considered straight razors to be knives and could he please remove them. He didn't so they removed one. Then he took some off himself just in case but left three on, which ebay have not touched. Not sure about straights not tobe delivered fron the US, as you guys always snap them up :P. I am expecting a shippment from Canada and the seller has not voiced any dificulties abooot that.

Just checked. On ebay UK, limiting the search to those actually in the UK there are 95 straights. Looked at a couple and they are all under hair removal etc.
Don't list them under knives!

Thanked: 5Sweet, good to know there is a way around it. Was starting to think I was gonna have to go to antique fairs twice a week to feed the beast!

Can you imagine the money we might save ? Then again if it wasn't razors it would be something else

I went to ebay.co.uk and searched on Straight Razor, and than did the same in ebay.nl. Funny, I suddenly found much more razors in the UK...
So my recently acquired Joseph Allen turned out to be a murky under the table deal??
Off course this is to protect all the youngsters that en masse order knives on the internet, since the knives in the kitchen are much less dangerous and available...
