Thanked: 156Well, if you did bid on it, YOU BID WAY TOO LOW!!!
Wow! I got it in the mail today, it was damn fast too. Anyway, inside the box was not only a Wonderedge in near pristine condition!!! (only thing wrong is one of the inlays is missing the ducks' heads, and the pivot is loose, but I can fix that. Oh and some rust in the tang, I can remove that in 2 seconds too) Its like it has never been honed!
And on top of that, there was a Wolsty with.....wait for it.....IVORY SCALES!!!!
Then there were some crappy blued razors, a Torrey and some other stinky one. Then there was a W&B 15/16, but it has a chip in it so more like 7/8". And some DEs and some other razors. But! I got a bonus razor too! Not sure which one is the bonus, but I think its the ERN. Btw, did C&S make Torrey razors? The Torrey has C&S scales, but no ERN or C&S anywhere. 7 straights and two DEs. I must say, a damn good haul for the price paid.
I must admit. When I actually won it, I was scared ****less that I was going to get a box of crap.

Great deal, but did you post asking who bid on an auction that you already won?

Thanked: 156Yeah, I was scared to death I paid way too much for it. Didn't want to admit I was the dumb*** who won. Yet.

I bid $162. I was hoping since it was such a sleeper auction, that I would win it.
it was at $85 with like 10 seconds left--- honestly, I thought I had it in the bag. then you and some other clown went nuts on it
I even bought the guy's other lot of razors in prepration to combine shipping with this lot.
It looked like a NOS wonderedge. i thought I was gonna hit the jackpot
Gratz on the purchase!

Thanked: 156Its almost NOS. Amost no hone wear. And theres a crack in the pivot point making the blade a little loose at the beginning of the action.
I must say, for something people pay over $200 for, these scales are...junk. I mean, I expected a lot better. I thought the stories about DD not having very good scales was an old wives' tale, apparently not. I don't think I've run across a DD yet with great scales. The plastic orange ones don't count either. Were they always this way, or is it because they're so old?

Thanked: 402I have my beef with those scales too.
They are warped and the mother of pearl sheen wore off partially.
Its sad because of the duckies and stuff.
Probably the first days of plastic weren't the most successful ones.
