Tam/Dalmore Blue combo - being sold by one of us?
Came across this auction (Item 320362116336 in case my link doesn't work) for a Tam O' Shanter/Dalmore Blue combo, 8 x 2 x 1. Since these are so uncommon (I've never seen a combo, let alone this size), I thought I'd mention it here. Maybe it is a forum member doing the selling? Looks pretty nice!

You had to publicize it, didn't you!

I sent the seller a PM with a question. He replied and I sent another PM and asked if he posts on SRP. He hasn't gotten back to me yet.

I have a dalmore blue / dalmore yellow combo and I've seen Tam/dalmore combos for sale on occasion, but you're right, they're few and far between.

Beautiful! The patterning (see lower right picture) is quite distinct. I'm sure I've seen pics of this stone on one of the knive/razor fora before. Now where and when was it?
Unfortunately, this will probably sell far beyond my budget - especially now that is posted here with all of us HAD's around...
Nevertheless, thanks for posting! It's a good thing people keep each other posted, even if it isn't always in one's economic interest to do so (or see it done).

I just received a reply from the seller. He said," I used to post to SRP, but not anymore. It's a terrific site, great guys, extremely knowledgeable and helpful, etc. I've stopped posting simply because I've been too busy."
As far as the stone, I have a few Tams and on Dalmore Blue single grit so I won't be competing. Good luck to all who may be going for it.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

The Tam is a finisher and the Dalmore seems to me to be a bit coarser. I wouldn't set a bevel with either one. I would say they are both finishing stones but if you were to go in a progression the blue would be first followed by the Tam. That is IME. others may have a different viewpoint.
