A big ole meat cleaver
... for those interested ...
SUPER WADE AND BUTCHER BARBERS STRAIGHT RAZOR - eBay (item 110382957746 end time May-04-09 17:07:54 PDT)
Dont see too many around like this anymore.
I'd guess this one will sell for about $250.
Any bidders here ?

Yeah, I saw that other one.
The auction I posted seems to be of an original example.
Plus, the blade is over an inch ...
A really big blade made for lifetimes of use.

Thanked: 171Yeah this one is pretty sweet. I might poke my head in, but I'm sure it will wind up too rich for my blood.

Every now and then you can get lucky. I opened ebay straight razors one night and this Celebrated For Barber's Use had just been listed with a 'buy it now' for $15.00 USD. I jumped on it like a kangaroo.
Slightly over 1" and honed up to be a good shaver.

Jimmy, i'm not sure if that story brings me hope, or just plain irritates me! Nice buy anyway! When you want to sell it i'll go as far as $30, & that's some tidy turnaround for you!

Thanked: 171Sounds like the guy was trying to unload it cheap, but even still he forgot a 0 on his buy it now price. Bet he was kicking himself
I dream of one day finding such a deal. I keep having a recurring dream that I'm going to find a labeled escher on ebay with a buy it now of $25.

He was an old guy from Wyoming. I don't know if it was stuff in an attic or he hit an antique store but one night around 10 PM Eastern here was a half dozen buy it now razors and I got the W&B and a Torrey. There was a W&B Bow but someone beat me to the punch. While I know one is no better than the other I prefer the "Barber's Use" stamped in the tang. I grabbed one of those on the bay for $81.00 + shipping. If $365 was the only option I would get along without one and buy a Robert Williams or a Joe Chandler.
