    Default my new purchase from ebaz

    Antique French Ivory Straight Razor Hone Strop Kit - eBay (item 200347208056 end time May-28-09 18:28:17 PDT)

    the hone needs to be lapped badly.. im hoping this is a good deal. it comes with a boker straight blade in fair condition. im hopin i can fix it some how. anyway it was only $29 bucks..


    ps.. this is my first straight blade

    congratulations on the acquisition! now go buy a pro-honed blade off the classifieds so you have an accurate idea of what kind of a shave you're looking out for.

    Lapping a stone is using some abrasive (a coarser hone like a DMT or wet/dry sandpaper laid on flat glass are two of the usual choices) to flatten a hone. A stone that is lapped has flat surfaces.
