Couldn't help myself
Saw a buy it now for a used razor hone. I looked at the first picture and was interested:
Looks like its in pretty good shape. So I went to the item and saw picture 2.
I am thinking combo coticule. We'll see when it gets here. Dimensions are 6" x 1 & 3/8" x 3/4" . Same as my other combo coticule.
One or the other may make it into the classifieds. Either way I'm keeping the cool box that came with the other one.

Ah, I saw that one too, but it didn't occur to me that it's probably a coticule. Good catch.
I just bought a long Staty from the same seller, and he seems like a good guy.

That's got to be a Coticule/BBW combination. Nice buy if you got it for a good price.

Here are the arrival pics. It looks like it is a glued combo. The coticule itself seems to have some pink splotches (a pink coticule?) The left one is my prior natural combo coticule. The new one is on the right.
I hope it at least shows the colors are different.
Below my natural combo coticule is on the left, the new one is in the middle. On the right is a coticule on slate.
You can see the color of the BBW attached to the coticule is a more lavender color that the BBW in the natural combo. Below are three BBW's with the new stone on the right.
You have to figure there will probably be a difference in performance in the BBW's.
It also makes me wonder if I may be wrong about the new stone is glued. Both parts seem to have a higher percentage of red tinted matter particles (garnet?). Which may serve to make both faster than there counterparts?
time for some experimentation.Last edited by Pyment; 06-19-2009 at 08:45 PM.
