Filarmonica from Argentina
There were a smattering of Filly's up for auction that ended yesterday on the Bay. I participated in the bidding flourish but lost. I'm wondering if anyone here bid as well, any winners? Has anyone bought from that seller before? tanowa38?
Thanks

I had my eye on one of the size ten (3/8), only because they were so cheap. But someone outbid me, and I changed my mind.
What I really wanted was a size 13 or 14, but those were so expensive
It was interesting to find the palmera (palm tree logo) razor. Learned a bit of Spanish straight razors because of that.Last edited by davik; 06-19-2009 at 10:57 PM.

I bought a BEAUTIFUL Fili # 14 from this seller .... it took 2 1/2 weeks to get it. But, it was just as advertised, and is my BEST shaver.
I had some other work I was sending to Max, so I sent it to him for a proper honing, and let me tell you, this is BY FAR the best feeling razor I have. Ever though it is a BIG blade, it feels like a race car on my face!!!
Smooth, fast, pretty .... what else can I say.
I say buy one if you can, this is a good seller, and I'd buy from him again.

I asked because he offered me a second chance offer on a few razors I bid on, a #14 and a Palmera #14, which seemed kind of shady to me. I was out bid and he offered to sell me another razor just like it. I dunno...

Second chance offer
I would jump all over a second chance offer. Let me tell you why...
I was outbid by $5 on the Fili I wanted, and I took matters into my own hands. I emailed him and asked if he had any more, and to my glee he said he had several more, and would give me a second chance offer.
The rest is history ... I am a happy man. Every time I open my razor chest I have to pick it up and look at it ... I love it so much!!!
Like I said before ... if you can swing it ... do it! You won't be sorry!

I did swing it, for the Palmera 14. "Elvis" paid me well last week, but not well enough to also get the Filly 13. I already have one anyway, currently in queue for Max's Magicâ„¢.

I have a couple of Fillies and got the Palmera that went on Ebay the other day. I feel safe in saying your going to love the razor you won. To get that wicked sharp edge, filarmonicas(and I suspect Palmeras and Iberias too) like a light touch on the hones, as the edge is thin and flexes. On the face too a light touch is recommended. All those good things you've heard about the filarmonica shave...they're understatement.

Speaking of which, anyone else notice the influx of NOS spanish blades coming out of Argentina, from multiple sellers? Interesting...
