I didn't see this already on here, but figured someone might be interested in this. It's not mine, and I don't know if any of these are good finds, but thought I'd share.

Grrrr.... that's gonna drive up the end price. Oh well.

EDIT: Well I won for less than my high bid, so I guess I can't really complain. But, I checked the bid history and some other guy was bidding up in regular intervals. I really wish he hadn't.

That remains to be seen... it sure looks like dyed horn to me. Then again, the bigger Greaves in "black celluloid" looks like black horn to me.

Also, the description says that the Greaves in "horn" is cracked...

    nice razors.

interesting bidding too. the guy who didn't win them just gave up when it would've only taken a few more dollars.
and if the top bidder would've only waited 15 more minutes to place their bid they just might paid half of what they ended up paying.

looks like horn to me too.

True, I might have been better of if I had gone for more of a snipe, because that second bidder had bid up and over the previous high bidder. But, I'm in class at the moment, and I didn't want to miss out bidding. By the same token, I don't ever bid more than I'm willing to pay (I'll never put in an outrageous high bid just to make sure I'll win); I gave some thought to my max and I'm comfortable with it. (Though it would have been nice if that other guy would have just given up.)

oh, it was you who won it! ah well, you got them and you were willing to pay that much, so it's all good.
using a software could've been of help, but then glitches happen. and often the potential savings don't outweigh the chance that would you be more unhappy for not getting them at all, vs. getting them at your max bid.

Congrats on those!... Man, that Greaves with the thumbnotch is awesome, I'd love to have one like that... now I have to start looking.

Holli bring the new gang along on the 18th, I thought you might be after that lot when I saw the greaves.

Unfortunately, the description says that one has a crack in the blade. Luckily, I already have another Greaves with a thumbnotch. Maybe this one will clean up well and make a display piece or something.

Yea, I'm really not a fan of sniping software. This is the first time I've been bid up like this. Incidentally, the other guy's max bid was exactly the same as mine (but mine was in first so I won).

I will indeed. I'm going to be quite busy with school work for the next few weeks, so I might even bring some un-honed.
