I guess I don't know razors....
Okay, saw this today
vintage john primable straight razor blue grass - eBay (item 120446645234 end time Jul-17-09 14:13:06 PDT)
I contact seller to let him know description is wrong, blade is shot. just informative, figured he had no idea anything about razors. check out his reply to me
"i have over 700 razors , i know them pretty good and fyi if i dont sell it no big deal. i will lay it up with the rest of them they dont eat nothing, kenny"
apparently because he has so many razors he knows them. well maybe they're all worse than this.

Thanked: 3795This is his description of the razor:
This is an old john primable straight razor, it is the blue grass and is in good shape, i see no cracks in the handle and it is very tight, it has blak bake lite handles. the blade has blue grass on it and it has been sharpened some, it comes with the orginal box and the box is in excl cond for the age it is . this razor sold new for 3.00, it has john primble stamped on the blade. this razor came out of a old razor collection and was laid up for several years.
Given the condition of the razor, with half of the blade busted off, I wonder how has it "been sharpened some?"
The guy is either confused, a moron, or a liar.

There is one more option, He could be all 3. I've seen a few Antiquers here who just ain't all there. The really sorry thing is they still sell enough to stay around.

Thanked: 105In all honesty, let's be fair. At some time that thing has been honed. It does appear to have good scales, for all we know they are tight and they are black.
It is in good condition, compared to what? Have to see what he is comparing it to.
And the picture is good enough to see the hone wear.
Now am I being too nice to the poor misguided soul.
