Surprising Wade and Butcher
Just received a Wade and Butcher in the mail today that I won a few days back. Wasn't sure what to expect, because the pictures weren't very detailed, but I went for it. Got it REALLY cheap. The condition really surprised me upon opening the package...

The scales are pretty chipped and the razor was pinned as straight as the line a drunk guy can walk. So after unpinning the blade and removing scales, the polish started to fly. Sanding, polishing, and more buffing later..... this emerged.

Now it's time for my first rescaling project.... :-)Last edited by slt5103; 07-23-2009 at 03:26 AM.

Good job. What have you got planned for scales?

Wow, nice job! Ive got that same blade laying around here somewhere, in similar condition, I need to go find it.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

That blade was sold for $1.50 in the 1897 Sears Roebuck! Cool!

Wow... $1.50. Not at today's prices!
I was thinking a Rosewood (Bolivian probably), Zebrawood, or maybe Ironwood. Not sure yet.

Wouldn't you love to take your bank acc't back, buy a whole warehouse of them, lock it, travel forward to today, and go unlock that warehouse....
If they sold for that price today, there wouldn't be room in my house for food I'd have so many razors.
I bet it'd look great in any of the above... although I do have a soft spot for the glow of rosewood myself. Can't wait to see it finished up!
