    Well, apparently it's a shavette...although, I can't IMAGINE why anyone would fake a S&W shavette. How bizarre...but kind of cool.

    It was produced in the 1920's by wesson products. It was used to sharpen safety razor blades and came with a strop. It was not intended to be used as shaving instrument.

    The bidder is probably a S&W collector and wants it as a novelty piece for his display. A guy with deep pockets.
