Thanked: 13249E-Bay just made me go Hmmmmmmm???
Look here:
Vintage Straight Razor with Beautiful Ornate Handle - eBay (item 320416571175 end time Aug-28-09 21:48:23 PDT)
So let me tell ya a little story...
I have this in my watch list...
I get a PM from two of my favorite people on SRP that happen to know I am looking for a nice Thistle, with a link, asking if I am going to bid, as if not they are going to... (TY Carrie and JoeD) I say yes I am planning on going just over $55 on a snipe, but if they are willing to go higher I would back off...
They decided that I should go after it and I set a $55.88 snipe with bidnapper...
I win the razor for $27 at the last second my Bidnapper is set up for a 4 second bid
Now comes the Hmmmmmm part, here is a message from E-bay
- View order details View order details
Listing infoStart price:$12.99Your maximum bid:$55.88
Now how the **** did they know my max bid?????
It never went that high, they should only know the $27
Anybody?????Last edited by gssixgun; 08-29-2009 at 05:53 PM.

Sure Glen, it is a proxy bid system. Your snipe program put in you max in case it was needed. Ebay used what it took and no more. When dealing in seconds that could make the difference between winning an losing.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
