    Default Hard Inclusions or Dust?

I'm still hunting for a barber hone for regular upkeep of my edge, and I came across one on e-bay for a pretty low price (as of yet). However, the stone is bespeckled in the photos with little white dots. Can anybody surmise if these are hard inclusions or just surface particles that can be wiped off? I appreciate any input. Here is the item: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123
    Thanks,
    Jon

I guess I was wondering if anybody thought the white specks would adversely affect the edge during honing. I have heard of defective stones like that before.

You would have to know what the specks are made of. In an old hone like that they probably have no effect on the functionality but you won't know unless you use it. On my computer they almost look like pits but I can't tell for sure.

Ok, thanks for your input guys. Since I just won a different hone, I'll let this one go to the other guy who bid on it.
