Thread: Great deal on a Boker... I think

I've really been trying to stay away from our friendly neighborhood electronic whosiwhatsit auction site. However, I am weak and I could not help but have a quick browse. I found what looked to be a rather nice Boker with low bidding. Before I knew what I was doing, I placed a bid that I thought was too low to win. The next thing I knew, I won. So here, check it out. Am I missing something, or did I get a good deal?

Vintage/Antique-H. Boker & Co.-Germany-Straight Razor - eBay (item 150378117625 end time Oct-12-09 11:11:13 PDT)

Looks to have very little (if any) hone wear and, with a wee bit of elbow grease, should polish up nicely. Sigh... I've really gotta stay away from the bay!

The razor appears to be in good condition, plus you, also, got "Boker" scales, and that's a plus. You did very well! You'll find that Bokers are great shavers.

Ah, but therein lies the rub... "appears to be in good condition." I won't know until I have it in my hands (and under my loupe). It's entirely possible that there is pitting near the edge. Ah well, you pays your money and you takes your chances.
