    Default Grrr... Outsniped

Every now and then I see a razor that I really want, and yesterday was such a day. The auction just ended, and I was outsniped. I hate being the first loser...

Vintage Joseph H. Elliot Straight Razor w/ case - eBay (item 160368786368 end time Oct-15-09 13:08:27 PDT)

    Item #160368786368

A really nice Joseph Elliot with thumb and finger notches and what looks like some work on the spine.

    Buy it now

I must admit, the one you missed out on is the same style I've been hunting for a while

Someone wanted it more than you did. When I get out bid at the end I always think of the money I saved. Win or lose there is always going to be a next one .... as long as we're on the green side anyway.

I was watching it as well...such an outrageous tang! Hope it went to a good home, but that was too many $$$$$$. Oh well, missed razors are like taxis and women; there will be another one along soon!

Personally I don't like those double notched out tangs. Just the aesthetics of it. Someone else would find it attractive I know. That's why god made apples & oranges I suppose.

I've got mine up on the bay now but it just has a thumb notch, these things seem like they're about a full generation older than the 1900's razors?
