he has a bunch and you are bidding on one of them.
I have one on the way if it is indeed as good as any good quality Nakayama,
then it would be a steal for me. The guy also said he will give me free nakayama nagura

He shows generic pictures, so you don't really know what you're getting. In that regard, it's a gamble. If lots of members buy from him and get good stones... it'll still be a gamble because it's still a generic listing.

Not to mention it's an almost incomprehensible listing, too... I had to read it twice to figure out just what the heck he was saying. It reads like it was run through a google translator, maybe.

    Persco: Yes.

This guy has a site where he sells stones and he has posted here before.

Some people surely have stones from him...

I have 2 Nakayama from him.

one is Najishi with Momiji that I bought from a member and the other is a Nakayama that is a darker green with some dark spots that I got from one of his auctions. They have both been lapped.

I also have one from Old School for comparison. I haven't lapped it. It is the finest finisher I have.

The one I got from the auction is almost as fine as the one I have from OS. It is dark green with a pattern like a muskie. It has one crack that doesn't affect honing after I lapped it.

The other is the fastest cutter but not as fine. It has some beautiful red-pink areas.

All are finer than my coticules.

I am very satisfied with my purchases so far.

I was satisfied enough that I purchased 2 more from his website. One is Kiita Najish. The other is Asagi with Kurasu. I had specific kinds of stones I was looking to add to my collection, so I went to his website and picked out the stones I wanted.

I was waiting until they arrived to take and post pics.

If you do buy the auction stones, expect them to have cracks, missing corners, and not very much in the way of stamps. Some of the cracks may require lapping so you can use the stone. The 40+ year old stones will be more likely to be in better shape. I am sure he will accept an offer in the $80-85 range for those. They are also grab bag stones, but come from a better bag.

I think the 40+ should be better.

    For the 40+
They are too old no crack stones which give blade a damage.
You remember that Green colored Nakayama is the most hi class stones.
    for the 70+
no crack or 1-2 crack stones which don't give blade a damage.
    Sometimes corner lack are available.
maybe I read too much into it, but I get the impression they have fewer cracks. Mine came from the 70+ group.
