Thanked: 19Jaques LeCoultre horn handle straight razor
Hey Guys,
here is my most recent catch from the bay: Old Jaques LeCoultre horn handle straight razor W/box - eBay (item 300365186125 end time Nov-09-09 09:38:01 PST)
I really don't know much about this type of razor so any info will help. Also I don't know much about it's value either so if I overpaid this one let me know. Does anyone has one? how is it?

Very nice Swiss shavers. That one looks to be in good shape; little wear on the blade and she's quite clean. Some of their razors had changable blades, and based on the screw it looks like yours does. But I'm only seeing one in the pictures, and I'm not sure how interchangable the blades are (so you may or may not be able to find others that will fit).
Framebacks certainly do have a different feel from other razors. They are stiff, like wedges, but light like full hollows. I have found that some can feel rather unforgiving while others are very smooth. I don't remember how the Lecoultre that I used to have shaved, but the Wosty/Lecoultre that I have now is a very smooth shaver.

I had a similar LeCoultre, which was indeed a nice shaver. Required a slightly different shaving technique, though, which cost me a couple of cuts near my ears while I learned the blade shape. Yours looks to be in superb condition. They hone easily and hold a sharp edge. Great find!
