Thanked: 0Bartmann High Class No 86
So I was browsing through a private collection of razors that belonged to my father-in-law when I came across what seems to be a very nice "find".
I found a case of 6 Bartmann No 86 High Class razors. These are all NOS, never been used and probably only opened to take a look. Still include all of the original packing and everything. They are simple yet beautiful razors with white scales (sorry cant remember any other details at the moment).
The outer "case" has some wear and tear (box is still intact though!), but the individual cases are in pristine, mint condition, just like the razors inside.
My question, as I do not know a lot about straight razors, is how much would a razor like this go for? And would it be in my best interest to sell the entire case of 6 (perhaps to a collector) or to sell them individually?
And browsing this forum, I see some of the members here have bought a few of my razors I have listed recently...good to know they have gone to good homes and are getting some use!!!
Any help would be appreciated! And thanks for all of the help in my "research", before I sell any of my items!!!

Thanked: 0Thanks! And sorry, I understand why that policy might be in place! Didnt mean to violate any forum policies or rules! And thanks for the input!
And no, ChayesFSS, that is not me! I did see that auction as well, though, it was the only Bartmann that I have seen on ebay in the past 30 days!
So what is the deal with the Bartmanns? I see a number of Fillys, DDs, and such on ebay, but not a lot of Bartmanns. My research shows that they are somewhat respected, but I cant find a lot of info. Are they rare? About what years are we looking at, too? I am a huge history buff myself, so I enjoy knowing what time periods the razors in this collection come from.
I know one particular razor I found that was in pretty good shape had a marking on the lip of the case with the original owner's name and the date it was honed... in 1918 I believe. Sounds odd, but I have enjoyed learning the history behind the razors as I sell them!
Makes me wish I was adept at cleaning them and semi-restoring them...but I sell them as is...and leave that up to the pros (you guys!).
