If you've sold items on ebay you know that sellers can see how many people are watching their item. It doesn't tell you who they are, just how many. Last night I listed two vintage bicycles. I'm thinning the herd and intend to get down to four like a normal person.

So I listed the two at around 8PM and at present I have 24 watchers on one and 12 watchers on the other. Once I had 80 watchers on an old road racing bike listed with a 2k opening bid.

I got no bids until the last few seconds and then one bid and the item sold. So having watchers is cool but it certainly doesn't mean a successful outcome for the seller. Personally I will actually bid on a small percentage of what I have in the items I'm watching. My watched items used to average 30 but now it is more like 10. End of ramble.
