My bet was on $400.00 tops but still. A high price. Worth it? Apparently it is to the new owner.

Worth it to a couple of guys. I had it in my watched items but it went way beyond where I was willing to go. Nice piece though. I have a Droescher in lesser condition but under a hundred $ and a real good shaver.

It's truly a beautiful razor. Did you see the photos? Completely mint, covered tangs. Agree with comments above -- I had it on my watch list, but after the price went over my budget, I just had to watch.

Problem with a razor this new and expensive is -- do you actually hone it and use it, or do you just keep it in a box and then look at it every now and then?!

My opinion, and I'll probably start to sound like a broken record, but absolutely I think that razor is worth that much. Look at it. How is that not as cool (and IMO much cooler) that any high end production razor from TI or Dovo for example? And, how many razors like this one in that condition are out there compared to current production razors?

In my atypical way of thinking, I'm always surprised that rare NOS specimens like this or similar don't sell for the price of custom razors.

    Just my 2 bits.

If it was honed by the seller, I would not then define it as "mint" in the literal sense, but that's just me.

Beautiful razor, though. If I ever came across a razor like that, it would a razor that I could not afford to keep.

I think he had a CMON Blackie listed as well that was both beautiful and expensive. I read his notes and he says that the SRD razor has never been honed, but he would do that free of charge upon request.

I wish I could find some of these seemingly-stockpiled NOS razors I see from now and then.
