    Default Friodurs on Ebay

I'm sure many of you have seen these but I thought I'd post and get your thoughts on them. How is the price so far? How do the blades look? Overall impressions?

STRAIGHT RAZOR 7/8" HENCKELS SOLINGEN INOX NOS - eBay (item 300396861116 end time Feb-21-10 11:45:14 PST)

STRAIGHT RAZOR HENCKELS INOX NEW BLADE - eBay (item 160404273344 end time Feb-21-10 11:51:37 PST)

EDIT: Is that a little frown near the toe in the link above?

Original Vintage Henckels Straight Razor - Mint - eBay (item 130367238324 end time Feb-21-10 13:30:58 PST)

This one isn't a Friodur but I thought I'd ask on it anyways. I've not seen a Henckels with these scales on Ebay often.

J.A. HENCKELS TWIN WORKS SOLINGEN STRAIGHT RAZOR - eBay (item 280464284103 end time Feb-18-10 17:00:46 PST)

So...what do you guys think? Not thinking of buying...just trying to learn what to look for and at what prices. I'd really like to get a Henckels in the future.

I got one that was identical to the first posted. Rescaling it at the moment. The price will definitely go above 100. Its very hefty blade with hollow ground and people say they shave great.

There is nothing wrong with the blades on these I have honed dozens of them, myself,,, BUT there are some problems with SOME not all, of the scales... Some of these big Friodurs will have the heel hanging out the bottom this is really prevalent on the 8/8 and some of the 7/8 so just be careful...

I've got an 8/8 Friodur that I had to trim the wedge on because the point would rub. Reached in with a hacksaw blade to do it ...... carefully. Good shaver though.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
