Yeah it was! I snagged a black-scaled one. Anyone else?

I can see how posting "$100 Friodurs" on SRP is like standing outside of a bar yelling "FREE BEER!"

Thanks again for the heads up, Wuff

Before you guys get over excited, let me quickly state that these are everything but rare. According to a local source, there was a batch with several thousands of them for sale not so long ago, so you might want to keep an eye open for more of them to pop up.

    Good luck,
    Robin

I'm just excited to finally get a 7/8 Frio for what I thought was a very fair price!

Same here. Finally an NOS razor with a realistic (I would not call prices determined by supply and demand unfair per se) price. As I said, it might be well worth looking for more from this vendor, as yours was at least the 3rd batch of such offers.

Rare or not $100.00 for a quality 7/8 razor is REALISTIC. Hope if more do surface I will have the funds to snap some up. Just happy to pay it forward to the members here for all the excellent information.

BeBerlin is right, I remember reading that a large cache of these big Friodur blades was found a while back, and people are putting scales on them and selling them in batches. I got my first Friodur off eBay this way last year for $100, from one of those batches. I think $100 is outstanding for a razor that is the quality and size of these Friodurs. Great shavers, if you go in for big razors (and I do...).

The only downside, which is minor compared to the relative bargain, is that the scales on these razors often aren't the best. But there are people on this forum that are artists at rescaling, so no problem. I bought from a different eBay seller than is listing these, so their scales may be better. Mine were wood that was finished in a material that kept flaking off over time, and the heel of the razor's blade peeked just a bit below the bottom of the scales.

I used mine this way for months, being careful not to fully close the razor. And I was very happy. But eventually, I sent it to Maximilian, and he did his magic on it in G10 Jade Ghost, with a orange spacer and a 3rd pin at my request. Now it's perfection, shaved with it just this morning. This is Max's picture of the razor, not mine:

Oh yeah Robin, I got mine one and a half year ago, IIRC, and they are still showing up, but mine is the worked spine version.
    A large batch apparently.
