Thanked: 12Mappin and Webb 5/7 7 day set.
I'm waiting for my Ritchie book on razor collecting so in the mean time. What are peoples opinion of the following
Mappin & Webb Victorian cut throat razor set on eBay (end time 26-Feb-10 18:02:46 GMT)
They look kind of restorable. Ive asked the seller to show some pics of the other blades etc.
I came across this also
Neil Wayne - The Razor Man
that values that lot at 285 pound. Do these type of lots come up much? and what are the chances of actually finding seperate 'wednesday' and 'friday' blades to complete the set?
p.s. I'm not daft enough to go bidding on lots like this just yet. I'm just testing out the water as to what is shaveable/displayable/valuable/restorable.
Any comments are welcome. Thanks in advance

Note that one of the two blades shown has a chip at the point. Unfortunately the seller doesn't show the other blades. What is that about ? I wouldn't mind having the set if the other blades are alright but it is a roll of the dice when you can't see them.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 12Oh I haven't started bidding. I'm already getting nagged off the wife for my new 'obsession' haha.
I just like the idea of having a quality set of blades but also the challenge of hunting down the two missing ones. Indiana Jones style
