EBay never fails
Every time. No matter what. Some E-bayer is there to give me a chuckle:
Antique*Straight Razor, in good condition - eBay (item 140378769949 end time Feb-28-10 09:53:41 PST)
But what the heck you cana buy it now for $20, and shipping is only $6. What a deal.Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.

Yep, this is a good laugh, but it's people like this that provide the best deals if you are persistent in the hunt and can avoid the sharks. I've gotten may a great buys off eBay from people not knowing exactly what they had and the masses not knowing what to look for. Gotta take the good with the bad.

Oh yeah - listings all the time, "There is a hole in the end, I'm not sure if it's supposed to be there, it kind of looks like nothing broke off there...." ebaysellerzombiedisease.
My favorite part of this listing is: "not sharpened."

Oh, give me a break, my friend - talking about that thing being "not sharpened" has nothing to do with knowing things about straight razors. It has to do with knowing the difference between your knee and your thumb. And telling the difference between a barber's notch and a chip is telling the difference between a stuffed bear and a grizzly bear. It has nothing to do with knowledge and everything to do with common sense. Thus ebayzombiedisease - taking stuff out of boxes and boxes and boxes and typing up listings without pausing to use the skull your mama gave you.

Mijbil is right, it's kind of dumb to list without researching it. Telling what are chips and what are thumb notches isn't hard to tell with a little bit of research.
