    Default DD Razor clamp?!

Just came across this thingy while rooting through eBay -- what the heck is it? Just curious. I suppose since it is labeled as "Dubl Duck" it must have something to do with hair removal, but that's not much of a help.

Anyway, the auction number is 290409764210, and here's the photo:

There is another thread on the topic here. I'm wondering if that gizmo might have been a clamp for attaching a lamp of some sort ? Hard to imagine what it would have been for that is applicable to barbering.

Thanks, Jimmy! Sorry I didn't see your earlier thread. The funny thing is that the vendor himself doesn't know what the thing is for, but it does say Dubl Duck on it, so it's just got to have something to do with shaving or hair cutting, right?

It would seem so. I don't know if dd made anything for other purposes. Jeff, how did you capture that picture ? When I right click on a photo in that new display format that ebay uses now I don't get "save photo as" in the menu. Instead something like view page source.

I always hit the "Enlarge" button first, and that brings up a larger version of the picture. Then you right click on that picture, and then "Save As" and so forth. --Jeff

Jimmy,I just spent a few minutes experimenting with this because it wouldn't work for me either, and I found out that Firefox will not allow me to copy pics from ebay, but if you view the same page with internet explorer,it will!

I'm running Linux Mint with Mozilla Firefox and I don't get that prompt in the menu when I right click. Maybe it is a Microsoft thing ?

Thanks for the tip. I opened ebay with the Konqueror browser and was able to save the photo.

Dubl Duck / Pearlduck made a lot of salon accessories like curling irons, hair driers, electric clippers, etc - not just razors.

The clamp is for taking a dummy head to put a wig on and style or dry it.

Here's a couple of pics of a modern one:
