I just received the razor in the mail. I took some pictures of it to the best of my ability. Please have a look and let me know if you think it can be restored and if it is worth it to restore it.

If I do restore the razor, I would get new scales. The razor rubs against one of the scales. The seller did mention this to me in our talks.

Let me know what you think. I probably will end up returning it unless you guys think it could be a keeper. Thanks for all comments!

    Default Restoration?

If it were mine, i would restore it. They are great shavers. It does however, look like it is warped and is pitted toward the toe.

Hope things work out for you!

Well, I decided that this razor was not worth trying to restore, which is very unfortunate. I ended up returning the razor to the seller. I received a full refund including the initial shipping. My total loss in this transaction was the return shipping which was $11-$13; I can't remember which. The shipping was to the UK.

All in all, this was not a completely horrible experience. I have met a great seller that may be able to find me a great vintage razor someday.

Thanks for all of the comments everyone.

I had a lucky escape yesterday while bidding on a Torrey, while in the process of bidding I made some enquiries regarding restoration costs, only to find out that that razor my have been worth considerabilly less (after restoration) than the total cost of purchase and restoration. (I was holding the leading bid)
I contacted the seller and explained my situation. who accepted my problem and allowed me to pull out, and the razor sold for considerabilly more,
