IME no way. Significant hone wear.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

That is the only Greaves I have seen like that, but I know razors like that were made.
Check out 48 and possibly 141 here: http://www.eldelphin.eu/v.html
And Seraphim's "Marshian" http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...as-landed.html
(Yes, a lot of wear on the toe, but not enough to cause that difference in width)
Given that these three are from the same maker, I think the razors were made that way.Last edited by holli4pirating; 04-28-2010 at 05:00 AM.

My first thought was as Jimmys, it appeared to be honed to death. But after seeing the razor you provided picture of the blade shape all appear to be the same. Im inclined to believe that that was a style of blade. Or the same guy honed all of them to death. LoL!

I have seen far too many blades with this shape for it to have been hone wear that caused the shape.

You may be right but I guarantee I wouldn't have been a buyer of one with that profile. Perhaps it is to more easily trim around a beard or mustache ? I just cannot imagine the purpose of a blade being 9/8 at the heel and less than 4/8 at the point. YMMV. OTOH, if I had a big Greaves wedge with a large chip at the point and I bread knifed it and then honed it with tape I might have a 'one of a kind'. Not saying that is what happened but I wouldn't be surprised.
Here is the seller's reply to my question sent last night;
"Dear Jimmy,
It is a bit under 4/8 at its narrowest point which is the toe. I know,
this blade has pretty much the coolest profile I have ever seen. Looks a
lot more like it was meant to mow down crops than whiskers. I have never
seen anything like it. Thanks for the question."
