Thanked: 2209Congrats on the score. The price is very reasonable. If you get just 2 very good razors out of it then you are ahead of the game.

Very excited about getting my hands on them I started digging out my tools (ya she knows somethings up now) I see a few lost causes but they will lent their parts to the rest
Some will show up here for sure as I don't need that many in my rotation, plus if I can break even on a few restores all the better haha (read as saving my butt )..
Can't wait to see what make that early 1800's is, looks SOOO much like my Clark N Hall. No clue what those handles are just yet but they are ugly buggers. If they are plastic they are going away, if bone... nuts... have to see when they get here

Thanked: 1185There are indeed some diamonds in the rough there. My standard tactic with SWMBO is to show her the prices of brand new straights then tell her to be thankful I'm picking up beaters at a fraction of the cost. If that doesn't work the second wave is to remind her of most of the other middle aged fat guys that have custom built choppers, Porsche Boxsters, and girfriends half their age. All I want is a few, ok few dozen, well, few hundred, beat up old straight razors to tinker around with. What's the harm really? I mean honestly, if all the bills are still getting paid and no one is starving what's the harm of having a bit of fun.
The older I get, the better I was

Well, other than the one that looks like a jack knife, and the other broad blade ancient razor, I think you did fine.
Tell her you are going to sell five of them to me and make a good profit, then take her out to dinner. I'll cover for you.

Not sure about how your wife feels about Jewelry but normally I can get away with almost anything as long as I have a piece of Jewelry lined up for my wife. Though lately she has taken to going to the local spas for manicures and pedicures so I might be able to do spa gift certificates in the near future.

Pretty sweet score. That razor at the bottom is from the 1700s and looks to be in decent shape. That alone is worth facing death.

I can't figure out if that one conical piece with a folding blade is a torture device or a medieval nose hair trimmer (insert the cone into nostril and rotate blade back and forth several times).
