I understand where you are coming from. If I were you I would have noticed the negative posts but when you take a look at the many members experienced in collecting high end razors who didn't comment. That tells me those members didn't agree with the tone of the thread.

Some time back there was a thread about some fool who paid too much to some obviously "unscrupulous" seller who was asking way too much for a vintage coticule. I didn't post in that thread. Only one member who did said that he didn't think it was too much for the stone. Matter of fact I didn't post because I was the buyer. Very happy to have the coticule BTW. It is a great stone. It was his father's, a barber in lower Manhattan, and during his barbering career from the 1920s into the 1980s he honed razors on that stone.

I have razors, hones and other odds and ends that I wouldn't let go of unless I got what I was asking regardless of what the market is at the time. I have one of those Pierre Thiers Historical and it is a heck of a razor. I hope you get your price.
