    Default Concerns about money returns

I bought an item in some ebay store. Seller accepted payment and then later sent an email that the item is no longer in stock, asking if I would like another item in his store.

I replied that I did not and that I would like my money back.

How long should I at most wait before talking to ebay or paypal?
Thus far, I've given the seller 2 days to react to my mail (I'm in Denmark, he's in Asia).

IIRC you have 45 days to file a complaint with paypal, so I'd give it a week and see if you've heard back. If you have, no worries, if not email him again telling him you'll wait one more week to hear back before complaining.

That way you're well inside the 45 days, but you've given him more than enough time to get back to you. JMHO.

thanks mate. 45 days is plenty yeah. From the nature of his emails he seems like a honest enough guy since he states that he received the money and actually informs me that the item in out of stock instead of just sending a wrong item =)

I'll give him the time he needs

    No worries!

Have a look on the Paypal website as well, and see exactly how they deal with any complaints. That way you'll know what to expect in the event that you have to do anything like that.

You'd think a person would go there first to figure things out .
Reason I went here was to get the perspective from an actual person rather than just rules.

But you're right, knowing the way it works would probably be good in any event.

I have been through this twice,in my 10 years on Ebay. Hopefully the seller will make it right for you. If you have to go through PayPal, you don't get back shipping charges.

Not really, you get the shipping charges as well. Plus in this case there was nothing shipped to start with.
I'd give him few more days and contact him again, if he doesn't issue a refund open a dispute.
