Razors made by the Solingen company are indeed scarce.

I don't think the razor itself is the reason for the high price. It has to be the "tusk handle". Hunting and harvesting tusks from celluloid animals can be very dangerous. And now that celluloid tusks have been banned from commerce, the only supply available is from celluloid poachers or old stock. And judging from the wear on that blade, I'm sure that this "tusk handle" is genuine celluloid and it's certainly pre-ban.

    Regards - Walt

I don't know much about origins of razors, but:

    1. This things looks like it's 1/2 a razor (the other 1/2 was chopped off)
    2. Maybe the seller meant $0.25...he/she missed the mark by 2 decimal places

1920s STRAIGHT SHAVING RAZOR EDELWEISS SOLINGEN For Sale

This one is £312! We are talking about top notch money. We all know which top models of top brands could be obtained for this. One could have a custom made for this sort of cash. I would like to know how the vendor has come to determining such valuations.

You guys don't get it. That's a very rare model designed that way. It's made by Swiss Army and you can use it as a multi-tool when your not shaving. It usually has a chain and you wear it around your neck.
