Bad sellers
If a seller accepts a payment, but does not ship the item, is there actually anything that can be done other than bad feedback, strikes etc, or is there never any redemption.
I recently bought an item which I won, but despite repeated attempts to communicate via email, nothing has happened. I have tried telephoning the seller, but he does not answer! He answered once initially then hung up!
Any reccomendations, or is that the end?

Well if you paid through paypal you'll get your money back. Fill a dispute and escalate to a claim immediately. Make sure you give all the details in your explanation as the seller has a chance to answer your claims. Other than that negative feedback is all you can do. Make sure to give them a bit of time. Could be illness or some emergency.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

No No, don't give up on your money yet!
Go to ebay's resolution centre. Make a claim there and describe what you are complaining about, they will try to help you.
And if that fails, do the same thing with PayPal and your credit card company.
If the seller can't document shipping the the goods you have paid for, then you have a pretty good case. I have won similar cases three times, haven't lost a dime yetBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

If this was through Ebay, you have 45 days to file a complaint, They can get you a refund. You need to work through their process though. I am not sure if Paypal has a way to file a complaint or not

Edit: not sure why the link does not workLast edited by Scipio; 06-09-2010 at 07:43 PM.

No, don't go to Paypal just yet.
Ebay's resolution center is what you want for now. They will get back to you in a couple of days. Just follow their lead, and you will be fine. And don't close the dispute until the money is back in your PayPal account.
If you do, then it cannot be reopened.
If, for some reason ebay isn't able to serve you right, THEN you go to PayPal and or your Credit card company.
Just do it properly as adviced by ebay, and you really should be fine.
Good luckBjoernar

I think it will probably work out. It has only been 3 days and the seller has 2500+ feedback.

Thanks for fixing the link and for building my confidence, but I still dont get why they havent responded, neither will they answer the phone. I even left a voicemail.
Im glad to know I can 100% get my money back, its a relief! They do have alot of feedback, but they also have a few negatives which said 'no correspondence/no reply' and 'never received item.' This makes me feel inclined to believe they may not ship...time will tell
