Hockey fans are crazy!
Wade & Butcher Sheffield Razor Lord Stanley Governor - eBay (item 290444530456 end time Jun-19-10 09:10:02 PDT)
and in case sanity catches up and he changes the listing:
Price: US $25,000.00 OBO.
"I am actually looking for information on this razor..... I believe it dates from 1888-1890. I have part of the original case. The blade has the company Wade & Butcher Sheffield clearly stamped on it..... email me with your email address if you want more pictures if you think you may get info from the stampings... It has an arrow and a cross under the name... I think most razors in these years had the letter B in front of the cross but this one does not have that.....On the full length of the blade it has a nice etching/carving on the top part it it has two flags one looks like the England flag I am not sure what the other one beside it is(something to do with Canada?)... in the middle of the two flags there is a crown.....under that Lord Stanley is etched in a detailed scroll like.....under his name there is an image of him etched from his chest up..... under him is again in nice scroll type with other details Governor General of Canada.... If anyone can direct me in the right way to get info on this let me know. I am a hockey fan and that is why I ended up with it and it looks great with my other stuff but I really like collecting history items as well......"

Wow. I really have nothing to add to this that it doesn't already scream for itself.

Hey , you can see some of the etching where the blade isn't pitted too bad . And there is a mystery blob at the end of the scales (looks like it may be electrical tape) . The missing "B" in the trade mark must be worth a premium . Do you really think 25K is too much ?
Greetings , from Dundalk , Maryland . The place where normal people , fear to go .

I don't think he wants to sell it, but as the listing says is looking for information on it.
It only costs 50c to list it.

Thanked: 0Stanley Razor
Well I am glad one of you know what the purpose of the ebay ad is.... it cost .50 to get people to see it and if the right person sees it you can get a lot of info....Do you think that is why I put it at $25,000 that way no one buys.. so here it goes again Can anyone find info on this item???

I'm pretty sure that is against ebay terms of service. This is a much better venue to get info on razors....and in that vein, here is the thread asking for info. The stamp appears to be on angle on the shank, which would likely be why part of it is missing.

Thanked: 0I am not sure of all the different styles in these years yet but I know there are many of them.... this shank is beveled on both sides you can tell it is machined that way. Maybe the razors that have a shank like that does not have a letter or a longer arrow? I can tell that it is not missing from wear although overall as you can tell it has a lot of wear over the years. It has a very strong shaving cream smell just like it has been used yesterday... although this has been in a tool box for years along with cuff links from another Governor General of Canada.... not sure how they both ended up together because they are from two different time periods.... the only thing I can think of is because they both came from someone that was involved in the Government... Thanks for making fun of my ebay auction though it has brought me to the right place to get help. I hope

They used a standard stamp but because the face of the stamp is flat and half of the face of the shank is flat and the other half angled, the stamp makes flush contact with only the flat part of the shank.
As an analogy/test, take a normal rubber ink stamp and stamp straight down on something with a similar angle in it. Only part of the stamp will show up, consistent with what you are seeing on your razor. Obviously, a metal stamping will indent into the metal and not just the surface, as in a rubber stamp, but the principle is the same.
