Default Anyone tried one of these? (sharpener pad)

    Hey Friends,

I came across this on ebay. It seems like a tough piece of really fine sanding paper to me but who knows, it might do the job!

What job, mate? I'd risk a disposable over it, but nothing else without knowing a grit rating.

You'd be better off with this kit. It's ten times the price, but it'll do the job you want it for.
Sham tested the 5 & 8 & reported that they were fast cutters. The Chinese finisher has a proven record.

Are those hones actually a good buy? I mean has anyone used them, because the exchange puts them at under #50 so if they report well I may be tempted.

I have not tried that product.

However I have several people using a denim strop on there multi blade razors.
So far everyone that has tried it say they are getting at least twice the life out of blades.

My wife has been using the same Schick quattro titanium since Jan 1.
I strop her razor every other day and once every 2 weeks I strop it on denim with a little Cro-ox on it.
The blade looks better under my 30x loup than it did new.
I do 40 passes on the denim.
She shaves her legs every other day.

The Schick quattro is a great razor to test because it does not have those lubicating strips on them that fall apart after a few shaves.

The people that only got twice the life out of their razors said they did not strop but a few times.

That 'pad' appears to be a piece of wood covered in chromium oxide...

Yes, Sham has, as I mention, & there's no questioning his abilities. As for the Chinese, it's well known here. It would make you a good cheap starter set till the HAD sets in!

Evidently somebody got an idea here and marketed it to the unwashed masses!LOL
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
