    Default Auction juggling??

    Something screwy here

PRE CIVIL WAR RAZOR-MOST LIKELY EARLY 1800,S-WARRANTED - eBay (item 300449490122 end time Jul-25-10 23:43:43 PDT)

My bid and the auction was canciled with 1 day left, now listed the same way but with a higher start bid... which was lower than my original bid...

Screwy seller or something going on here...

My guess is that the seller wanted more money for the razor and cancelled it.

I think the seller cancelled, fearing yours would be the only bid. The eBay rule is that the seller cannot end an auction that has any bids within the final 12 hours, but may do so earlier than that.

Q: Why was it canceled and relisted?
    A: yes
So there's your answer... Why would someone stop the auction and re-list?: "Yes".

Kind of dumb on the part of the seller... Now they'll have to pay higher eBay fees, and might have ****ed off a bidder.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

That sort of thing annoys me, and frankly sellers shouldnt be able to do that.

They should have to set the price they're happy to get at the start, and not be able to relist the item if they decide down the line that they'd like more money than they orginally decided.

You'd be pretty hacked off if you went to buy a car, offered to pay the advertised price and then the dealer went "Actually sorry, I'd like to get an extra $5k on this car, so the price has gone up."

I'd blacklist someone who did that to me for sure.
