Thread: Alum Holder?

At the bottom of the page you can see the response I got when I asked about the interior dimensions. My Turkish alum is exactly the same width so I don't want to risk it not fitting, but I think a lot of alum is slightly smaller than mine and thought someone else here my be interested in it...

Yes, but the alum block gets smaller with use and I don't think the box follows. I don't know if I can handle the rattle when it becomes smaller than the box. May cost me way too much in having to replace the alum too often so that it always fits perfectly

I don't think that it has to fit perfectly, just fit to begin with. I read a thread a few days ago where someone was asking about what people do with their alum, because most don't come with containers, and I was looking for something too... I like the idea of using old containers as an extension of the experience; something old that's never died, like this way of shaving, and stood the test of time, so to speak.
