    Default What would YOU do???

Say you had a DD Grim Reaper razor and put it on ebay to sell. And it sold and did fairly well. The buyer said he would pay in 3 days. Three days are up and you get a buyers remorse e-mail from him. What would you do?
Now... imagine that this person is an active member of SRP and you see his posts on this forum recently. I am wondering how other members would treat this predicament. With over 650 transactions, this has never happened to me before.
    Thanks guys!

I would say some things (to myself) that I can't type here or I'd get banned. Then I would let him off the hook. It would irritate me but if the guy doesn't want to pay what can you do ?

I think the two options are a) what Jimmy said or b) take action through ebay. I'm pretty sure an ebay bid is contractual, but if the guy's not going to pay I really don't see how they can make him pay.

Isn't there a second chance system for sellers? Or just relist it.

I am in the process of selling my first item on e-bay, so I have limited experience.

However, I say that a contract is a contract, or at least it used to be. It seems that people have no sense of personal responsibility or accountability anymore. Everyone thinks they can shimmy their way out of predicaments be they financial or otherwise.

I say take whatever action you can through e-bay to try to get paid the money the buyer agreed to pay you. I would pursue it as far as I could and try to make this person live up to their end of the bargain.

If not, it could always be re-listed so your loss will probably be aggravation. Good luck!

Well... If the person on srp logs on and sees this, maybe they will be guilted into paying. Dunno.

    Hmmm. Who is it then?

It's not really on, is it. Hardly very gentlemanly behaviour.

Since ebay changed their policy a seller can only leave positive feedback. No negative feedback option. Believe it or not the fear of a negative kept both buyers and sellers somewhat "honest" when it was reciprocal.

Now they say they will put a "strike" against the non paying bidder but beyond that your only option would be small claims court AFAIK. I'm too nice a guy to go that far...... really am. A PITA but I would just chalk it up. As Dylan mentioned there is the second chance offer if you had more than one bidder.

I'd charge him/her/it the ebay/paypal fees and relist it, or I'd offer it to the next bidder at their max bid, which should only be a few dollars off the top price

Selling to someone who doesn't want to buy leaves a bad taste in my mouth

This seems to be the most logical thing to do, if they are willing to pay the minimal fees to let themselves off the hook, I would offer it to the runner up or re list it. I would also let my friends know who the non payer is.

It is a pity that these things happen.

But honestly, I would just offer it to the second highest bidder, and if he/she doesn't want it, re-list it.
You have had 650 good ones, 1 bad isn't all that.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....
