    Default Escher on ebay

Did anybody see this. A 7" escher went for $105 AUD. That seems like a good price to me provided its an actuall Escher. OLD BOXED WATER ESCHER RAZOR HONE STONE GERMANY BARBER - eBay, Barber Shop, Shaving, Vanity, Perfume, Shaving, Collectables. (end time 16-Sep-10 14:41:57 AEST)
Hope one of you guys got it.

Most likely stone has some issues .
that may be the reason for low price.

These things happen on ebay. I don't think there's anything wrong with the stone. Sometimes valuable items get overlooked by those that know the true value, they forget to bid or their snipe fails.

That one looks pretty thick/lots of life left in it. So, can you just keep lapping away on it, as needed, until its @ 5/8ths in thick?

I saw a Escher label in a box, I saw some close ups of a stone that doesn't look very fine grained to me...

This is why I didn't bid higher than $50 USD, I took a chance at that price but not more...

Glen is right this is not an Escher.
One of our members got it and sent it to me to try, I found it to be like the new Muler Thuringians ~8k,not as good as a vintage Escher. The stone was then returned to end up on eBay one more time.

I'm glad I didn't see this auction before, because I wouldn't have seen anything wrong with it.

Thanks Stefan, I would have never known. I would have just figured it needed a decent lapping.
