I Hope One of You Got This Sta-Sharp
An auction on Ebay just ended. In the last 15 seconds, I was going to bid about $15 over the amount that won, but Ebay had just kicked me off and I had to try to sign in before the time ended. It didn't sign me in fast enough, so I didn't win
So I'll be continuing my long search for a mint Sta-Sharp razor, maybe next time.
Happy Shaving,
Brent

WOW! Glad you posted this. I have one just as nice in roundpoint and tortoise cell with bow bolsters. Good to know it is worth that much. (plus 15 bucks, of course !)
I hope it found a good home. Keep looking and good luck!!

I have never been "kicked off" of ebay. Perhaps it is your server.
Also, when bidding, I keep two windows open. One to send my bid, and the other to watch the bidding clock / price.
When the clock hits around 2 or 3 seconds, I fire.
You really don't know that your bid would have won, it depends on what the last bidder bid....

That is a beautiful example of a beautiful razor.... but I still wouldn't pay that much for it.

Yeah, I'm going to have to do something like that next time. I know it may not have won, but it would be better if I had entered my maximum then lost, because then I would know that the most I was willing to pay was less than the most the winner was willing to pay.
I anticipated a response of this sort, but I've been on the lookout for a Sta-Sharp like this for a long time, so I was willing to go up from what most might be willing to pay. But hey, maybe next time!

Thanked: 480Ebay does not kick you off so much as "sign you out"
I have had that happen to me a few times now. What I do is I sign out MYSELF before any important auction, and then sign back in. Even when you click the "keep me signed on" box, it still happens on occasion. THis way I know I am freshly signed in, and good for at least a few hours.
Wish I had known you wanted a Stay-SHarp that badly. I turned one down a little while ago as it was out of my price range.
I will keep an eye open for another for you. =)
