Thanked: 0Any insight into this straight razor?
Could anyone provide me with any information on this razor? I am assuming these are modifications that someone made? and not how it was originally made?

Thanked: 13245I looks like somebody took a Wostie, and stuck in in SS Dovo Scales...
Perhaps they are custom built can't really tell, the problem is either way, the razor is going to be way off balance, look at the thickness of the scales and consider they are SS...
The three razors with the worst balance I have handled are in this order
The TI with SS scales
The Dovo with SS scales
The Wapi with SS scales
Most everyone that has used any of these says pretty much the same thing...
So although the Wostie blade is nice, the mating with those scales make it more of a curiosity then a shaver... sorry but you did ask,,, Twice
This of course is JMHO and based on the assumption that those are really SS scales

Thanked: 0I see what you are saying, sort of the opposite I found with my BIG W&Bs....at first. Now I love the heavy weight of the enormous blades.
The scales are aluminum, SS would be much heavier. Doesn't feel unbalanced but what do I know, still wet behind the ears when it comes to straight razors.
Wish I knew more about it's history.
Torn about selling but too late anyways.
Thanks gssixgun, I learned something new.
