Thanked: 3795I tried to look at some of the listings, as I'd love to get a Hess razor after honing some of them. Unfortunately, the listings appear to be blocked due to the Paris court decision.

Hmmm...that is interesting Ron. They seem to be working for me...no blocks that I saw. I even did a test bid and it worked.

Thanked: 3795I clicked on a few of the Hess razors and got the message below. I restarted my computer and got the same message.
Unfortunately, access to this particular listing or item has been blocked due to a Paris commercial court decision that bans trade of certain authentic perfumes and cosmetic products on eBay because of French selective distributions laws. eBay is appealing this to ruling but is nevertheless required to enforce it. We are blocking your viewing in an effort to comply with this court decision. Regrettably, in some cases, we may prevent users from accessing items that are not within the scope of the decision because of limitations on existing technology.

They work for me too. Not sure what French law would have to do with it, as the items are in LA (state, not city).
I'd love that Hess 44, but at this rate it'll be way out of my price range. Oh well...

Thanked: 3795Well, I kind of figured it out. I could open the listings for hones, the knife, the holster, but none of the razors. I switched browsers and was able to open the razor listings. I highly doubt the Hess razors will fall in my price range, but I'll take a shot anyway.

I was looking at those hess razors, and they are gorgeous, but it got me thinking. I've seen pictures of the Hess 42 and 44 both with square and round point. Did they make them both ways? are the round points modified? Are the square points just cut down from the rounded?

Thanked: 1371Ron, are you by chance using a software to "speed up" your internet connection, or does that particular browser use remote servers to gather pages and then send them to you?
I used to use a software that did that, but because the pages were coming through a remote IP, many of them would be blocked based on that IP, and not mine... I wonder if for some reason using your other browser made it appear as if you had an IP address in France?
(Google analytics would screw up because of that too... Their targeted ads would be way off target.)
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.
