Thanked: 30There are some heavy pits and that one in the middle of the bevel might be a death sentence unless you want a 3/8.

I realize it is only $5 and the scales might be worth it by themselves, but you do see the corrosion in the dead center of the blade, Right???
Of course you can't ever tell until a razor is actually in hand, but I am not seeing a solid edge there myself nor much room to make one if that corrosion is even half as bad as it looks... If you have to rip that blade down, your going to be way into the belly of the blade instead of the finely tempered edge...
I would love to see micro shots of that edge myself...
Good luck with it though

Thanks for the input. I received the razor today. It's such a beautiful razor and for less than $5 I was compelled to take a chance. LOL Afterall the pictures were crappy and it could have went either way. It doesn't seem that bad to me. I am going to bread knife it and try to make it usable. If anything the restoration experience will yield a lesson.

Thanked: 30May you have better luck than me. I just got a razor off ebay looked real nice for less than $5 also. Turns out it had a nick in the blade almost in the middle. I pushed it gently my finger nail to assess the situation and it cracked nice and straight about halfway up the blade.
