    Default Newbie question

Looking to pick up a new strop, this one comes with 3 razors, unrecognizable maker, and a double sided strop. Looks pretty decent, just looking for suggestions. item number: 300507167630 take a look for yourself.

Can't tell what they are. Ask the seller who made the razors.

You'd probably be better off stropping on the bills and shaving with the change.

"Selective" is one of the brands to avoid, according to this Wiki:

Brands of Straight Razors to avoid - Straight Razor Place Wiki

General advice here (and from me) is that you're likely to put many nicks into your first strop. Getting an expensive "first strop" can be an expensive mistake.

If you want an inexpensive strop, I suggest the $19 "Poor Man Strop Kit" from:

    Whipped Dog Straight Razor Sales

It's not fancy, but it'll keep razors sharp. There are other strop vendors in the Classifieds.

I paid $45 Cdn for my "Illinois"-brand strop -- nice leather, separate linen strop. That's probably a middle-of-the-road (in terms of quality and price) choice.
