Angry WARNING on new Schrade Walden Razor

    Hey guys,
I was looking around on EBay and found 3 listings for a limited edition Schrade Walden straight razor. That states it is etched with the Schrade Walden 65th Anniversary logo. It looks just like a
Kriegar Razor. This is so sad as I really like my old Schrade Walden. I think this would need to somehow be worked into the do not buy list. Before I new anything about Straights I bought a few of the Kriegars and tried to hone them. Then I found this site. I would hate for anyone to buy one of these crappy knives!!!

Schrade Walden Straight Razoer - Candy Stripe !! - eBay (item 380307093105 end time Feb-03-11 16:10:01 PST)

Schrade Walden Straight Razoer - Multi Colors !! - eBay (item 380307094782 end time Feb-03-11 16:15:01 PST)

Schrade Walden Straight Razoer - Imitation Pearl - eBay (item 390279719192 end time Feb-03-11 17:15:01 PST)

You really don't need to be any kind of expert here. If you pay $9.99 for a straight what do you think you are getting?

A nice vintage that slipped by the snipers? Our traditional advice has been that vintage names are good-- this has a vintage name stamped on it (as do the new line of "collectible" W&Bs and Bokers flooding the market from Pakistan) but they are no good...

I think that, as always, buyers need to have their head in the game. The best advice we give in that sense is keep off eBay until you know darn tootin' well what you're doing.

You said a mouthful! But, it's true of anything, from gun shows to used cars.

I agree regarding staying off of ebay. I have bought two razors on ebay. They were a Genco and a Boker. Both had hone wear and will take some work to bring them back. I know I learned my lesson about ebay.

I am glad you posted this warning, especially for those just starting out . There is so much junk on ebay that is can be daunting to find anything worthwhile.

    Default Schrade Walden

FYI, Smokey Mt. Knife works bought the name in 1984 when Imperial Schrade folded. They sell for $14.99 at their store. No doubt junk.
SMKW Knives >> Schrade Cutlery® (also known as Schrade Cutlery® knives; Schrade Cutlery® cutlery) outlet. Best prices and largest variety of Schrade Cutlery® knives and accessories on the web
But, if you are ever in Severiville the store is worth the look as the National Knife Coll. museum is also located in the building.

They're pretty obvious....I don't want to sound rude, but... if you can't spot the crap, keep off of eBay until you learn how.

Thanks BK, not rude. I haven't seen any of these I thought maybe they were a little more un-noticeable than the aforementioned Shrade razors.

I just wanted to be sure it wasn't something that could maybe slip by as an authentic
